College Reunions, Company Picnics, and Food Trucks

College Reunions, Company Picnics, and Food Trucks

Party and food planning are our specialty. As you probably know, Jerry's Kitchen offers event catering, including graduations and birthdays parties, throughout the Philadelphia region. We are happy to cater other events as well.

Always keep in mind that what often excites people about events, draws them in and inspires them to talk is food. I know that sounds so obvious that it need not be said (or written). But it can easily be assumed (for good reason) that guests come to an event for the company that they're going to find there. Or because of some great fun theme that will entertain everyone. Or, in the case of company picnics, because they have no choice.

The Best Movies to Make You Hungry

There are some fantastic movies about food and love, which are so closely related to each other. Check out some of these titles with your family and friends.

You may not be surprised to learn that I am a big fan of the movie Chef. After all, it was a movie about a great chef seeking redemption—and finding that redemption in a food truck. The star Jon Favreau is Carl, a talented chef who has lost his passion and creativity for making food by tying himself to a restaurant whose owner just wants him to make what customers like (or what the owner, played by Dustin Hoffman, thinks they like).

Food Trucks, Community, and Happiness

Today, food trucks are an active feature of our neighborhoods and communities. Making people happy, wherever they live and work, is an important motivator for food truck vendors.

You may have read recently that food trucks may be returning to The Porch at 30th Street Station, a wide pedestrian walkway with furniture and lighting that sits immediately adjacent to the train station and borders Market Street. The plan is for food trucks to provide breakfast and lunch service in this attractive public space, and possibly even dinner too.

Currently, the plan calls for inviting food trucks during the spring and fall, but there is interest in having them year-round in this public space. Broader menu options will provide a huge boost to the neighborhood, drawing even more people to spend time in this dynamic area.
